What to bring to your walk-in appointment
A short checklist to help your visit go faster — what to bring, what to leave at home, and what to do beforehand.

If you're new to walk-in clinics, knowing what to bring can save you (and us) time. Here's the short version.
Bring these
- Your BC Services Card. This is how we bill MSP for your visit. If you don't have one, bring another piece of government-issued ID and we'll work out the billing afterwards.
- A list of your current medications. Names, doses, and how often you take them. If easier, bring the bottles themselves. This is the single most useful thing you can prepare ahead of time.
- Allergy information. Especially medication allergies — we'll ask, and a written list is faster than trying to remember.
- Any recent reports. If you're following up on imaging, blood work, or a specialist visit, bring the report or the date and the provider's name.
Helpful, not required
- A brief note about what you'd like to discuss. Even one sentence helps the doctor focus the visit.
- The name of your usual pharmacy if you need a prescription.
Leave at home
- Other family members' health concerns. Each patient needs their own visit, so we can give each issue the attention it needs.
- A long list. If you have multiple unrelated concerns, mention them at the start and we'll triage what we can address today versus a follow-up visit.
Before you come in
- If you're coming for a prescription refill, check whether you have any refills left at your pharmacy first.
- If you can, book online instead of walking in — the wait is usually shorter.
When to skip walk-in and go to the ER
